Astral Demise

By Florence Diane D. Samson
Poetry

We are all specks of light
Flickering in the night sky—
Shining, burning bright,
Constantly blazing, consuming fire.
Yet,
Gradually deteriorating, burning out
Slowly fading out of sight
Dimming, losing our lights
Until remnants are all that we see.
Dead stars—
We’re all going to be.
